We gain an understanding of the development of the Jewish community and life in Mexico. Jewish immigrants arrived in Mexico in the early twentieth century and settled in what is now known as the Historic Centre. We visit the places where Jewish life was in the early twentieth century, covering different neighbourhoods as we enter one of the oldest Synagogues in Mexico.

Quetzalcoatl's Nest (El Nido de Quetzalcóatl) is a surreal, eco-conscious residential park in Naucalpan, Mexico, designed by architect Javier Senosiain. It features 10 apartments built inside a massive, snake-shaped structure surrounded by oak forests, gardens, and water mirrors, offering a unique, immersive experience in organic architecture.

Sunday 16th May, 2027
Zócalo, Palacio de Bellas Artes, and the old Jewish Quarters
The historic centre of Mexico City comes alive around the grand Zócalo, one of the world’s largest public squares, surrounded by landmarks such as the ornate Metropolitan Cathedral and government buildings rich with colonial and national history. We visit the streets of the "Old Merced" to see places where the daily life of the Jews was: Jesus Maria, Soledad, Moneda, Loreto, etc., where was the Yavne school, the first butchers, grocery stores, bakeries, workshops, places of prayer, of meeting, the matzah factory, the mohel house, the first rabbi, the cook, the teacher, the midwife, who gave him merchandise to sell. Explore the old Ashkenazi Synagogue "Justo Sierra" and immerse in the ancient Jewish Mexican culture. Lunch at a famous seafood restaurant, set in a classic colonial courtyard, a 1940's mural by Rafael Gonzalez Lozano. In the afternoon, we explore Palacio de Bellas Artes and Alameda Central. We rest up, then a casual dinner, discovering the local street food at Anthony Bourdain's favourite taqueria.

Teotihuacán Pyramids
Teotihuacán is one of the most important ancient archaeological sites in the Americas, famed for its monumental Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, vast ceremonial avenues, and mysterious ruins built by a powerful civilisation that flourished long before the Aztecs, revealing the grandeur of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunch is at an iconic, bucket-list dining experience inside a massive, candlelit volcanic cavern. The restaurant serves traditional Mexican cuisine inspired by pre-Hispanic traditions.

Coyoacán & Frida Kahlo
Coyoacán is one of Mexico City’s most charming and historic neighbourhoods, known for its cobblestone streets, leafy plazas, colourful colonial houses, lively markets, and relaxed artistic atmosphere that feels distinct from the city’s fast-paced centre. It is most famous as the home of Frida Kahlo, whose iconic Blue House, now the Frida Kahlo Museum, preserves her personal belongings, artwork, and intimate living spaces shared with muralist Diego Rivera, offering visitors a vivid glimpse into her life, creativity, and enduring influence on Mexican art and culture. Lunch is in the Mercado de Coyoacán. A visit to the Leon Trotsky Museum, before heading back to town for a rest, before an exquisite dinner date, in the city's finest contemporary dining experiences.

Our private Food Tour through Mercado de San Juan, Mexico City’s renowned gourmet market, celebrated for its exotic ingredients, artisan cheeses, fresh seafood, specialty meats, and vibrant food stalls that showcase the city’s adventurous culinary culture, where we shall also enjoy lunch. Chapultepec Castle rises above Mexico City on a wooded hill inside Chapultepec Park, combining sweeping city views with centuries of Mexican history through its elegant halls, murals, gardens, and former royal apartments once occupied by Emperor Maximilian I.
